The Postcard Agency is expanding, and we’re seeking a motivated and creative Content Marketer to plan and execute meaningful marketing strategies for our local and national clients. 

Job Description

The Postcard Agency seeks a driven, energetic, detail-oriented and highly organized Content Marketer to write and deliver original, thought-provoking content to our clients. The role requires excellent writing and editing skills, as well as familiarity with SEO and lead generation techniques.

As the agency continues to expand, it requires a skilled, experienced and proactive individual who can keep projects moving forward while delivering superior client service. 

Reports to: Jonathan Ochart, Founder and CEO of The Postcard Agency


  • Content marketing: Develop and manage content marketing strategies for clients; write thoughtful and original blog posts, white papers, sales collateral, video scripts and lead generation copy; research and contact interviewees for content initiatives and brand partnerships; edit/proofread content; format content on website backends; establish thought leadership for clients with smart content
  • Social media marketing: Write creative and brand-specific social media copy for clients; create and upload social media graphics; manage social media calendars; operate social media management platforms; engage with social media audiences; grow follower bases
  • Search engine optimization: Perform SEO website audits; research and identify competitive keywords for clients and their websites; write SEO-friendly blog posts and website copy; optimize existing website copy; track SEO performance and recommend improvements; execute link building strategies
  • Website design: Build websites in Squarespace and WordPress; write web copy; add graphics and videos to websites; update website content for clients as needed
  • Public relations: Create and update media lists; conduct media outreach; write press releases/pitches; develop media kits; build relationships with reporters
  • Reporting: Compile social media, email marketing, content marketing and public relations performance reports

Account Management Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily communications with client accounts (via email, phone and video)
  • Support project management efforts for clients and the agency to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner within budget
  • Develop monthly performance reports and marketing campaign reports to be shared with clients, and walk clients through key takeaways and opportunities for improvement
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and provide suggestions to boost efficiency, such as automating tasks in our project management software
  • Report and escalate issues or delays to management as needed
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Represent The Postcard Agency in a professional yet friendly and personable manner across all communication channels


  • 2+ years of professional blogging and content marketing experience in an agency or in-house setting
  • Superior writing, editing and project management skills
  • Proven ability to write smart copy for a variety of brands, reflecting each brand’s individual style and voice 
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • SEO experience
  • Google Analytics experience
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Experience with project management tools (i.e., Trello, Basecamp, Asana)
  • Professional social media experience (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest)
  • Knowledge of marketing, advertising, public relations or communications
  • Experience in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment
  • A passion for creativity, diversity, inclusivity, equality, social justice, sustainability and doing the right thing
  • Community involvement is a plus


  • 2+ years of professional content and/or digital marketing experience in an agency or in-house setting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, journalism or a related field

Hours and Pay

  • Hours: The Content Marketer will work 20-30 hours per week
  • Pay is commensurate with experience
